McGovern Consulting Group Vendor/Customer Cleanup

The Vendor/Customer Cleanup process is perfect for an organization that has been using Sage Fund Accounting (Formally MIP) for several years and needs to streamline the number of vendors or customers that appear in the drop down list when making entries. Once this process is completed users will be able to select vendors/customers easily and accurately.

During this process, McGovern Consulting Group works with the organization to determine the criteria for which Vendors/Customers should be kept with a status of "Active" in Sage Fund Accounting (Formally MIP), and which Vendors/Customers should be "Discontinued" (without eliminating them from the history).

With this plan you pay as services are rendered. These services will be billed at our normal hourly rate.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How am I billed for the services rendered?
Time is billed in fifteen-minute increments.

How is the support provided onsite or remotely?
If services can be provided remotely via GoToAssist and teleconferencing - they will be; if there is a direct need for an onsite visit there will additional cost for miscellaneous travel expenses.

Does this eliminate our Sage 20% Maintenance and Support Agreement?
No, this does NOT! This is supplemental support not eliminate or to take away for outstanding quality support Sage Software provides. You are REQUIRED to continue paying your Sage Maintenance and Support Agreement to receive updates

How do you define a case?
You can define a case with any response to a technical inquiry (via phone, email, fax) regarding your accounting software or its integration with other programs. This can also include responses we make on your behalf to third party developers, other consultants or your accountant.

What if we email you with a question – are we still charged?
Cases are charged whether they are opened via phone, email or fax.

What if you can’t resolve our problem? It is still considered a case?
Our technical support cases are responses to your requests for assistance. They do not guarantee that we will solve your issue. Technical support cases cover all types of support questions, even if the issue is ultimately a bug with the Sage product.

Do we pay for support even if the issue turns out to be a product bug?
Yes, our plans provide for support, which covers OUR response to any issue that you are having with the software.

What if we don’t use all of our cases each year?
Unused prepaid support dollars will carry over to the following year.

Can’t you have Sage reimburse you for answering questions that turn out to be bugs? Why should we pay?
The software industry operates under a model where they expect users to “accept” that there are a number of bugs present in their software. We don’t agree with it. However, we have never been reimbursed by any software manufacturer for discovering a bug.  Therefore we must charge for our technical assistance whether it is related to a bug or not.

Does your phone support plan include our Sage Basic Software Maintenance?
No! Under all plans you must continue to separately maintain a separate Basic Software Maintenance for your Sage MIP Fund Accounting or Sage Fundraising 50 software if you want to continue receiving upgrades (as well as any additional software maintenance required by other software).

Are you telling us that you really don't want to support us anymore if we aren't a huge nonprofit?
Absolutely NOT the whole purpose is to accommodate everyone’s need ad achieve 100% customer satisfaction.

What's the real reason for the new policies?
We receive hundreds of emails per day and quite a few phone calls. Many times callers would indicate that they didn't want to be charged for what they perceive to be a "quick question". Many callers expected free responses to what they deemed "easy" questions. Multiply the above by 100 to 150 clients and as you can see, free responses to technical questions are not a sustainable business model. All incidents will be billed in 15 minute increments. This could include time spent working with you and also time spent working on the issue offsite and without client involvement.

Does this plan include you coming out to install our upgrades?
If you are on the prepaid plan this includes on-site upgrades, training and consulting, and miscellaneous expenses will be deducted from the prepaid amount. McGovern Consulting Group will notify you when the balance on your account has reached the $500 threshold.
